I found this today on the Youtube. It gives me some hope, that the things I'm doing do not go unnoticed and the things I'm saying do not fall on (metaphorically) deaf ears.
Let me clarify. I felt happy for Brandon because he was able to stay both true to himself and true to the church, and find lasting happiness.
This again is why I love reading about the work you're doing. You're heading a group of people who want that very thing - to follow the Gospel and everything there you know is right, but to also not have to pretend you're someone you're not. To be able to overcome this seeming dichotomy is the only way (as I see it) to be happy, to be both active in the Gospel and true to yourself. (And I realize Brandon's story is atypical, so that's not what I'm suggesting.)
The other story is what depresses me about Christianity in general. Jesus never had a "holier-than-thou" attitude. Ever. Who are we, that we can presume to avoid "love thy neighbour" and condemn those around us? Judgment is reserved to the Lord. Come on, people. You don't agree, so what? Doesn't mean you can talk down to and belittle others.
I loved that story, the first one. It shows that God has a plan for each of His children, and so many blessings in store.
